Yasamin Alttahir (17), studente aan Auburn Girls' High School werd disciplinair gestraft door de directrice van de school omdat ze zich niet aan het hier heel gebruikelijke schooluniform hield. No big deal, ware het niet dat het een muslim teenager betreft die een traditionale klederdracht verkoos. Dit leidde tot een debat in de media (hoofddoeken saga in Frankrijk). De commentaren in de krant, van zowel journalisten als lezers, waren in typisch Australische stijl direct, soms te langdradig en meestal grappig.
